As a Chef at Magic Soup, you will have responsibilities split between client-side and server-side programming supporting new game systems. You bring experience with guiding features through iterative design and illustrating technical constraints. You participate in the development components and services for our upcoming AAA co-op multiplayer game. You will work closely with our design & engineering team to research options, prototype, and architect game features.
As an early hire, you must be capable of adding features with less oversight, and be able to evaluate needs and implications from game designs. During the early days of development speed of iteration is a primary concern and your expertise in deploying reliably and quickly to enable experimentation will be extremely valuable to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other departments to deliver a high-quality AAA game experience
Implement new systems in real-time gameplay in the game client and server.
Implement systems that may include UI, character, camera, graphics, persistence, and networking.
Extend existing game server functionality where necessary to support client features.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in engineering including client-side development
Have worked on a real-time multiplayer AAA title, or an application with similar requirements.
Experience in Unity3d, Unreal Engine, or other proprietary game engines.
Proficiency in languages such as C++, Java, C#. Professional experience in several languages.
Strong communication skills
