Description:

At the direction of the Data Scientist, the Assistant Research Database Administrator will be responsible for the creation and support of the research electronic data capture (EDC) system that meets all DoD, DHA and WRNMMC IT standards as well as all FDA CFR compliance. The Assistant Research Database Administrator will also aid in the creation and maintenance of documentation pertaining to the data flow and data entry procedure for various scientific studies. In addition, this individual will assist the Data Scientist in guiding the research team in the creation and integration of interventions utilizing current technology, such as applications for various smartphones, wearable electrocardiographic monitors, and ambulatory blood pressure recorders.  

The incumbent will attend meetings at the direction of the Data Scientist with the research team and the appropriate staff of the University, hospital, or DHA.

The Assistant Research Database Administrator is also responsible for other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Training Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is required. Must have experience/familiarity with research data collection and the scientific method. Must have experience/familiarity with database software (examples include but not limited to: SQL, Oracle, REDCap) as well as modern statistical software (examples include but not limited to: R, Python, SPSS, Stata).

Minimum Experience: No minimum experience in terms of years worked.

Physical Capabilities: Long periods of sitting, standing, escorting patients, carrying light items.

Required Licenses, Certification or Registration: None required. Preferred: CITI training

Work Environment: Office and clinical patient care area; possible evening and/or weekend hours

Mix of remote and in-person work, negotiable ratio.
