Position Overview: 

Summary:  Looking for a strong contributor to work in our analytics environment. Will work on customer projects doing advanced dashboarding and visualizations. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer needs and design/build metrics, reports and dashboards using PowerBI, Targit,  etc.

  • Perform thorough analysis of customer data and lead remediation of issues. Work with large data sets to evaluate discrepancies and iterate with customer and internal data teams to provide data in correct formats.

  • Collaborate with team members. Share knowledge, provide visibility into personal accomplishments and follow direction when provided.

Desired Skills 

Reporting and Visualization:  

  • Experience with one or more business intelligence tools, PowerBI, Targit, GoodData, etc but any similar tool experience valuable

  • Ability to understand any type of data, it’s use, implication and what cross-data and correlations can be important to be analyzed

  • Strong knowledge of relational database systems, data structures, and data modeling concepts and familiar with using data modeling tools

  • Excellent SQL syntax knowledge 

Data and Integration:  

  • Experience creating and troubleshooting SSIS packages, OLAP and tabular cubes 

  • Understand Integration architecture: application integration and data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings, data dictionary reports

  • Understand Logical and physical data models

  • Awareness of Data governance and data quality principles

  • Ability to transform business rules into functional solutions

  • Understand Data warehouse design: star-schemas, change data capture, denormalization

Business/Data Analysis

  • Effective communication with business (clients and business analysts) and technical teams (developers and support staff)

  • Business Analyst strengths in gathering and documenting requirements, developing and executing test plans, managing data migrations and managing change activity

  • Useful documentation of development that can be easily leveraged for training and support 

Other

  • Willingness to learn new tools and business software applications

  • Thrives in virtual/matrix team environment

  • Strong customer management and influencing skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Beverage Alcohol sales data and reporting helpful but not required

  • Experience with a reporting tool 

  • Industry experience in consumer packaged goods (ideally, beverage supply and distribution)

  • Experience with a software start-up company

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent job experience required
