This role largely includes reception, documentation and updating documentation of orders (incoming, ongoing, complete) in CENTOGENE’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), but also occasional tasks like liaison roles with other departments and other teams in the same department. Additional laboratory, client contact. and training development roles are also within the scope of the position. Additionally, the employee works on Sample Entry tasks, i.e. reception and documentation of incoming shipments in CentoCDM software
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Sample Entry:
- Receipt and barcoding of samples for genetic and biochemical analyzes
- Pre-sorting and unpacking of samples within CentoCDM
- Evaluation of quantity and quality of received information Internal distribution of paperwork and material
- Documentation and sample tracking according to biobanking
- Maintaining transparent, organized records of work
- Performing weekend and holiday duty according business need
- Participating in regular trainings, team meetings, and professional development
- Working according to respective Quality Management (QM) requirements following outlined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Reaching out to contact partner and trainer with questions related to daily tasks
Clinical Data Management / Accessioning:
- Ensure that the paperwork of the received samples for genetic and biochemical analyzes is complete
- Responsible for maintaining and tracking orders and data records within our
- Laboratory Information Management System
- Take part in maintaining and structuring our database and statistics
- Track and initiate corrective action for orders approaching or past TAT, as appropriate.
Logistics:
- Shipment of patient-related specimen and collection sets
- Ship specimen collection sets to patients and doctors
- Ship collected specimens to Germany for testing, as needed
- Follow up with patients to return specimen collection sets
- Keep inventory of specimen collection sets stored in Cambridge facility
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/ or 3+ years of relevant work experience in clinical laboratory setting preferred
- Proficient using MS Office applications as well as ability to learn new technology as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work well individually and with a team Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
- Ability to remain organized with multiple interruptions.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and organization skills is essential.
- Demonstrates self-motivation by taking initiative to learn more and take on more challenges.
