Zeta Charter Schools is seeking violin teachers for a new Suzuki violin program at its 2 locations, Zeta Inwood 1 Elementary (652 West 187th Street, New York, NY 10033) and Zeta Bronx 1 Elementary (222 Alexander Avenue, Bronx, NY 10454).

As a Violin Teacher, you will teach private violin lessons (with 2 students in each private lesson) and assist our head music teacher with group lessons during our after-school program.  Our after-school program runs from 3:45-4:45 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00 p.m. This position will ideally be filled by one violin teacher who teaches every day out of both school locations on an alternating basis (preferred) or two violin teachers teaching two to three days per week out of one school location.

As a Violin Teacher,  you will be responsible for:

  • Instilling a love for violin and music in your students

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering excellent private Suzuki violin instruction to two students per class

  • Working with the head music teacher to support a world-class Suzuki violin program

  • Providing high-quality violin performance opportunities for your students 

  • Developing strong relationships with parents and students to create investment in violin practice

  • Holding yourself accountable for excellent student outcomes in violin

  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress, achievement, and behavior
