We seek an entrepreneurial, resourceful, and highly skilled Director of People & Culture to grow and support our extraordinary team. You will be a thought partner with the CEO and senior team on attracting and retaining mission-minded, top talent, driving a high-performance culture, and embedding our core values into our culture. You will help change the lives of children by helping our leaders and staff themselves fill their own cup and become excellent in many dimensions, in service of children.


Zeta Charter Schools has two public charter elementary schools, Zeta Bronx 1 in the South Bronx and Zeta Inwood 1 in Upper Manhattan. With two more schools on the immediate horizon (and a plan to open ~2 schools per year thereafter for a total of 20+ elementary, middle, and high schools), Zeta is entering an exciting growth phase. We have an extraordinary, world-class team, and seek to add more world-class talent to help our organization grow and deliver excellent next-generation schools for children.


Responsibilities


  • Recruitment and Hiring

    • Manage recruitment process for all open positions from initial screening to hire

    • Craft proactive recruiting and sourcing strategies based on competitive intelligence

    • Build partnerships with internal hiring managers, and provide advice and coaching throughout recruitment process

    • Develop networks and our Zeta presence in social media in a manner that reaches and engages our target talent pool

  • HR Management and Processes

    • Manage all aspects of employee onboarding

    • Partner with the senior team to create and implement compensation plans, including industry benchmarking

    • Build scalable People operations processes

    • Establish and develop metrics and analytics to measure our People operations

    • Implement performance management process that drives high performance

    • Oversee and support teacher certification requirements

    • Manage all HR processes through our external PEO including payroll, I-9, benefits, worker’s compensation, PTO tracking, etc. to ensure our employees are seamlessly supported

    • Manage Zeta’s 403(b) retirement plan

  • Organizational Culture

    • Be a culture leader, and help deeply embed Zeta’s core values in its culture

    • Advance Zeta’s commitment to its core value of WOW through Family (and Employee) Service by planning and implementing culture initiatives to promote staff engagement and investment

    • Implement diversity and inclusion initiatives

    • Wear multiple hats as a part of a start-up team, supporting the work of the team

  • Preferred

    • Several years of talent acquisition / human resources experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

    • End-to-end full recruitment cycle experience, demonstrating strong track record of building a robust pipeline of high-quality candidates

    • Proven track record of creating and implementing successful high-volume recruitment campaigns
