Communications & Marketing Intern (unpaid for college credit) – 100% remote

Position

The COPD Foundation seeks a dynamic Communications Intern to assist marketing and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing in a nonprofit health care setting. The ideal candidate will assist with and develop skills related to writing, digital/social media, analytics, newsletters, graphic design, marketing strategy, advertising, development, education and outreach, and more.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Content Creation:

  • Assist in the development of compelling and engaging content for various platforms, including social media, newsletters, press releases, testimonials, and blogs.
  • Collaborate with the team to create multimedia content, such as graphics, videos, and infographics.

 

Social Media Development & Management

  • Support the management of the organization's social media accounts, including content scheduling, monitoring, and engagement.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of social media campaigns to raise awareness and drive engagement. 

 

Public Relations

  • Contribute to the development of press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials.
  • Assist in building and maintaining relationships with media contacts and influencers.

 

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor and analyze the performance of communication and marketing efforts.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing strategies based on analytics. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college program (junior level and up) with a focus on communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and content creation.
  • Firm grasp on social media tools and platforms and familiarity and digital marketing strategies.
  • Proficient in graphic design tools and multimedia content creation.
  • Basic understanding of public relations principles.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Interest in healthcare, nonprofit work, or public health is a plus.

Note: This opportunity is for college credit only.  In this role, you will learn the ins and outs of Communications, Marketing, health care, and the COPD foundation. The COPD intern will work in a part-time unpaid capacity, anticipate 10 hours a week. This internship offers a work from home opportunity with flexible hours.
