As a Corporate Relations Intern, you will assist with the development of corporate outreach packets, researching contacts at prospective corporations, and updating databases with new opportunities. You will work closely with the Corporate Relations team to ensure the organization's corporate outreach efforts are efficiently recorded.
Responsibilities:
Database Management:
- Update and maintain the organization's corporate fundraising database, primarily using Excel, SharePoint and Salesforce.
- Enter and manage data related to corporate fundraising prospects, including contact information, donation history, and communication activities.
- Assist in identifying new corporate fundraising opportunities through research and data analysis.
- Regularly perform data cleaning and validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the database.
Corporate Relations Research:
- Conduct research to identify contacts at specific companies, and possible opportunities for alignment between a prospect company and the COPD Foundation’s mission and goals.
- Assist in creating reports and summaries of fundraising research findings for the Corporate Relations team's review.
Corporate Relations Outreach Packet Development:
- Research contacts at companies identified as prospects by the Corporate Relations team.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Relations team to compile compelling and visually appealing solicitation packets.
- Conduct research to gather information about a prospect organization's programs, projects, and impact to be included in the packets.
Administrative Support:
- Provide general administrative support to the Corporate Fundraising team, including and coordinating logistics for meetings.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining files and records related to Corporate Relations
- Help draft and proofread correspondence, thank-you letters, and acknowledgments to corporate supporters.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a college student; preferably in a related field such as healthcare administration, nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing, communications or business.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and adapt communication styles for different audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with databases.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or willingness to learn quickly.
- Basic knowledge of design software and tools is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Passion for the mission of the non-profit sector and a desire to contribute to its success.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Note: This opportunity is for college credit only. In this role, you will learn the ins and outs of Corporate Relations, including Corporate Social Responsibility, and the COPD foundation. The COPD intern will work in a part-time unpaid capacity, anticipate 10 hours a week This internship offers a work from home opportunity with flexible hours.
