Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist – Outpatient Imaging Department

Location: Employment Type: Full‑time / Part‑time Department: Outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Schedule: Day Shift (no nights, weekends, or holidays)

Position Summary

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs high‑quality CT imaging procedures in a fast‑paced outpatient environment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate diagnostic results. This role supports radiologists by producing clear, precise images and maintaining a smooth clinical workflow. The ideal candidate is patient‑focused, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
  • Verify patient identity, review medical history, and screen for contraindications (e.g., contrast allergies, pregnancy, renal function).
  • Prepare and position patients to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Administer IV contrast safely and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Operate CT scanners and related imaging equipment, ensuring proper calibration and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to ensure timely, accurate image acquisition and transmission.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and exam logs in the RIS/PACS systems.
  • Follow radiation safety standards and ALARA principles at all times.
  • Provide clear communication and compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Support daily workflow by assisting with scheduling, room turnover, and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT (R) certification.
  • ARRT (CT) certification or eligibility within 12 months of hire.
  • Current state licensure (if applicable).
  • BLS certification.

Preferred:

  • 1+ year of CT experience in an outpatient or hospital setting.
  • Experience with GE, Siemens, or Philips CT systems.
  • Familiarity with PACS/RIS and EMR systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, move, and position patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment and IV supplies.
