The Role:

The Human Resources (HR) Manager will report directly to the VP of Finance & HR and lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including partnering with Talent in the hiring and interviewing staff; administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Payroll & Benefits and Employee Relations

  • Performs accurate and timely payroll processing.

  • Manages the onboarding of new employees to and the offboarding of departing employees.

  • Ensure that our benefits partners have timely and accurate data and that we are in compliance with all of their requirements.

  • Manages processing of leave (parental, COVID FMLA, etc).

  • Tracks team usage of PTO/vacation, stick leave, professional development stipends, and other benefits and reports to management to ensure the team is making the most of these offerings.

  • Analyzes trend and complete market analysis in compensation and benefits.


HRIS & Talent systems Management

  • Maintains timely and accurate employee data in VFA’s HRIS, Trinet.

  • Own and maintain the VFA’s talent management system, 15Five, and timeline for employee reviews and OKR setting.


HR Operations

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Be a champion of our culture, helping the team understand and live our core values through effective programs that promote morale while achieving our organizational goals.

 

Organizational Culture & Team Engagement 

  • Design, manage, and implement a robust slate of inclusive team engagement opportunities

  • Ensure that VFA recognizes Team members’ important professional milestones.

  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance and HR and COO to maintain up to date onboarding content and to execute programming.

  • Report to the Senior Leadership Team on outcomes of programming.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.

  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of employment -  highly desired (VFA provides a professional development stipend that may be used toward certifications).
