As the Program Associate, Learning Systems, you will manage Venture For America’s learning management system (LMS), mentorship program, networking platforms and conduct ongoing data collection and analysis. Location Preference: VFA city

What you’ll do:


Systems and Data Management (70%)

  • Manage all aspects of the learning, and networking platforms such as Sift, Qooper, and Google sites 

  • Manage the implementation and ongoing maintenance of VFA’s learning management system

  • Establish connections between system technical support, team members, Fellows, course authors, and subject matter experts

  • Define user roles and manage those roles within the LMS and mentorship platform 

  • Manage VFA’s ongoing experience surveys to Fellows and alumni

  • Support program evaluation strategies and reporting in platforms such as Salesforce and FormAssembly

  • Conduct data analysis for Fellow and alumni experience surveys and post-program evaluations in Salesforce

  • Manage and update external Fellow-facing website with resources and important updates

  • Primary contact for courses and content, including user and manager support; adding and managing courses and training sessions (instructor-led; virtual); and computer-based training/ e-Learning

  • Develop, maintain, and track training records through a Learning Management System

  • Assesses current and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes

Content Design and Management (20%)

  • Creates materials for new training programs

  • Design, develop, implement and manage VFA’s mentorship program

  • Support the integrity and implementation of VFA’s Fellow competency framework 

  • Assists with identification of external resources, including training programs and/or experts that may be appropriate

  • Recognize and resolve the issues that may appear when it comes to course design, its configuration, or infrastructure


Fellow Recruitment and Selection and other internal projects (10%)

In addition to the responsibilities unique to this role described above, all VFA team members devote a portion of their time to Fellow recruitment and selection, which occurs on an ongoing basis between August and March, as well as other internal strategic projects. Activities include:

  • Participating in local recruitment events

  • Evaluating written fellowship applications, conducting candidate interviews, and facilitating Selection Days

  • Support the execution and evaluation of Fellow and Alumni engagement opportunities, including Training Camp typically hosted in Detroit, MI

  • Hosting Selection Days in your city as necessary, including fundraising for the event, securing a venue, and recruiting Selection Day judges

  • Taking part in VFA working groups, strategic projects, and steering committees. Current strategic working groups include: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Impact Assessment; City Expansion

  • You will also support VFA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, as is expected of all team members.


What you may have already done:

  • Worked for 2+ years in data and systems management

  • Have developed and implemented courses and evaluations

  • Tracked effectiveness of learning programs 

  • Conducted ongoing data management in Salesforce or another data management type tool

  • Achieved results while working autonomously with little to no direction

  • Worked for a startup or in an organization supporting startups and/or have experience supporting diverse entrepreneurs

  • Able to work efficiently and effectively while meeting deadlines on multiple concurrent projects
