We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join our team who can develop and execute a communications strategy that will increase awareness and elevate the VFA brand across a variety of channels and with our external stakeholders.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to shape and communicate the organization’s image, values and to promote the VFA brand.
Develop and implement a communications calendar that incorporates strategy around the method of communications to external stakeholders including donors, company partners, ecosystem supporters, Fellows and Alums
Draft written materials such as emails, press releases, messaging, Q&As and maintain a comprehensive contact list
Assist on ad-hoc special projects and support internal communications
Support and implement VFA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, as is expected of all team members.
Assist with internal all-hands-on-deck functions such as our Selection Days and Fellowship application review process, as is expected of all team members.
What you may have already done:
3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations
Experience working in a non-profit or business development environment
Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
You have the ability to be thoughtful and strategic while simultaneously executing and producing results in a fast-paced environment
Excellent project management experience, with the ability to lead and execute multiple time-sensitive projects at once
Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and a bias for action
Enthusiastic team player who works well cross-functionally and with external partners
