We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join our team who can develop and execute a communications strategy that will increase awareness and elevate the VFA brand across a variety of channels and with our external stakeholders. 


What you’ll do: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to shape and communicate the organization’s image, values and to promote the VFA brand.

  • Develop and implement a communications calendar that incorporates strategy around the method of communications to external stakeholders including donors, company partners, ecosystem supporters, Fellows and Alums

  • Draft written materials such as emails, press releases, messaging, Q&As and maintain a comprehensive contact list

  • Assist on ad-hoc special projects and support internal communications 

  • Support and implement VFA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, as is expected of all team members.

  • Assist with internal all-hands-on-deck functions such as our Selection Days and Fellowship application review process, as is expected of all team members.


What you may have already done:

  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing or public relations

  • Experience working in a non-profit or business development environment

  • Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences

  • You have the ability to be thoughtful and strategic while simultaneously executing and producing results in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent project management experience, with the ability to lead and execute multiple time-sensitive projects at once

  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail and a bias for action

  • Enthusiastic team player who works well cross-functionally and with external partners
