Venture For America is looking for a part-time Selection Operations Contractor to join our Talent team – which does all the recruiting, selection, and onboarding for the fellowship. Last year, Venture For America generated over 3,000 applications for a class of approximately 200 Fellows, and the Selection Operations Contractor will support in executing and improving our selection process for our robust candidate pool. This is a temporary, part-time contractor position that will begin in August and last through March of next year.
What you’ll do:
Ensure smooth communication & data integrity for candidates (4-5 hours per week)
Act as the first point of contact for selection related candidate communications (e.g., texts, emails)
Update applicant information and maintain data integrity in Salesforce
Coordinate with the Recruitment Team on necessary logistics & communications
Ensure that each selection stage (e.g., application reviews, video interviews, and Selection Days) runs smoothly (5-10 hours per week)
Recruit Fellows & Alums to serve as application readers & interviewers
Ensure all application readers & interviewers complete training & submit decisions in a timely manner
Support planning final round virtual Selection Days (e.g., coordinating Zoom rooms, candidate & judge communications, etc.)
Assist as needed in Selection-related decision processes (4-5 hours per week)
Participate in Venture For America selection events, such as reviewing applications and interviewing candidates on an ongoing basis
Assist with internal quality-control processes
Collaborate to improve our existing selection processes
You:
Can commit 20 hours per week on average from August 2020 through March 2021 (Note: Some weeks will require more hours than others)
Have a B.A./B.S. and 1-3 years of work experience
Are exceptionally organized and can multitask without dropping anything
Demonstrate next-level communication skills in person, writing, and virtually
Salesforce experience a plus
Are adaptable in a fast-paced nonprofit, comfortable with ambiguity, and take initiative to solve problems before being asked
Have an interest in and talent for data analysis and intuitively understand how to manage & manipulate data to improve processes
