Do you love startups and helping others achieve their potential? Are you passionate about helping current seniors and recent college graduates realize and pursue their dreams?  Are you dedicated to ensuring Venture For America is an onramp to entrepreneurship for historically excluded communities?  Are you looking to join a dynamic team where you’ll be constantly learning and growing?

Venture For America is currently seeking a logistical powerhouse to join our Talent team – which does all the recruitment, selection, and onboarding for the fellowship. Last year, Venture For America generated over 3,000 applications for a class of approximately 200 Fellows.

The Senior Talent Associate will have several core functions that will vary during the recruitment season (August-March) and off-season (April - July). First, you will source potential candidates from a variety of platforms. Second, you will ensure data accuracy and clear applicant communication throughout our selection process. Third, you will inspire them to join our mission and address concerns they have about our program by representing VFA virtually and in person once it is safe to do.

What you’ll do:

Drive recruitment activities (August - March)

  • Identify & source candidates (40%)

    • Use various job boards (e.g., LinkedIn, Idealist) and virtual platforms (e.g., Handshake, RippleMatch, Jopwell, and LinkedIn) to source diverse candidates

    • Lead the execution of our candidate referral program, where you will mobilize current Fellows, Venture For America alums and team members to spread the word

    • Engage with stakeholders - professors, student leaders, prospective applicants and prospective partners - to drive interest in Venture For America’s mission

    • Lead webinars & recruiting events, driving attendance and following up with attendees afterwards

  • Cultivate candidates (30%)

    • Act as a main point of contact for a pipeline of applicants, mentoring them through the application process.

    • Execute an inclusive recruitment process so that candidates accepted to VFA choose to matriculate

  • Select Candidates (20%)

    • Participate in Venture For America selection events, such as reviewing applications and interviewing candidates on an ongoing basis, as is expected of all team members

    • Take on additional selection responsibilities, as needed (e.g., assisting with selection logistics & applicant communications)

  • Data and Logistical Support (10%)

    • Update applicant information and maintain data integrity in Salesforce

    • Collaborate to improve our existing recruitment & selection processes

Support the incoming Class of Fellows (April - July)

  • New Fellow Onboarding (60%)

    • Support the learning & development of Incoming Fellows to ensure they are excellent job seekers
