Venture For America is looking for an Entrepreneurship Programs Manager to support the organization's early-stage startup programming and its accelerator program. 


Venture For America’s mission centers around creating the next generation of entrepreneurs in American cities. The Entrepreneurship Programs Manager will have an exciting opportunity to add value to the early and later stages of a Fellow Founder’s entrepreneurial journey and execute its keystone entrepreneurial program, the VFA Accelerator, which takes place in Cleveland this August - November.


This role has three core functions: (1) Executing city based early-stage entrepreneurial programming for Venture For America Fellows (2) Owning and executing the VFA Accelerator and (3) Managing relationships with VFA Fellow Founders and contacts that support VFA Fellow Founders. Additional responsibilities may include ownership of Cleveland based programs associated with the VFA Fellowship.


What you’ll do:

  • Programming (75%)

    • Own the logistics surrounding locally focused entrepreneurial programming, namely Ideation Sessions

    • Own the logistics surrounding Side-Project-A-Thon, a 2-day startup weekend that takes place at VFA’s Training Camp in Detroit in July

    • Assist in execution of national entrepreneurship programming, including Validation Challenges, national pitch competitions, and Pitch Week at VFA’s Training Camp

    • Design and develop new entrepreneurship programs, where appropriate, to support the organization's mission

    • Own and execute the VFA Accelerator (Aug - Nov), which includes:

      • Management of a part time Accelerator contractor

      • Oversight of all Accelerator programming

      • Oversight of all Accelerator mentorship 

      • Oversight of all Accelerator company logistics (housing, office space, etc)

      • Oversight of public facing Accelerator events (kick off event, Demo Day)

  • Relationship Management (20%)

    • Educate Fellow Founders and Alumni about program-specific learning objectives and outcomes

    • Communicate with a portfolio of 40-50 Fellow Founded Companies on a quarterly basis

    • Develop and nurture relationships with external, Fellow Founder facing contacts, in local markets

    • Communicate with founders and mentors, both within and external to Venture For America, to support entrepreneurial programming for Fellows and Fellow Founders 

  • Organization (5%)

    • Input and report out on all entrepreneurship related programs through Salesforce and other organization designated tools

    • Measure effectiveness of entrepreneurship programs based on current and historical data records


You:

  • Are located in Cleveland, OH, or are willing to relocate to Cleveland, OH

  • Are entrepreneurially minded and naturally optimistic 

  • See a need for a more equitable and inclusive path towards entrepreneurship, and have a strong desire to play a part in changing the status quo 

  • Have a passion for teaching and educating other entrepreneurs

  • Create powerpoint decks that are pitch worthy or financial models that are investor worthy
