We are looking for a detail-oriented, multi-tasker, and proactive communicator, to support Venture For America’s Baltimore program.
As the Baltimore Programs and Talent Senior Associate you will be responsible for all VFA regional programming and recruitment efforts. You will support our Fellows in their professional journeys, recruit and select VFA Fellow candidates, and support the city Director in executing new strategic initiatives for the organization.
What you’ll do:
Programming (45% Spring & Summer)
Plans and organize monthly (or more frequent) events for Fellows including speaker series, Fellow community-building exercises, Fellowship milestone events, and skill development workshops
Work closely with the Fellow City Leadership Council to strengthen the program
Recruit new local mentors and volunteers to support the VFA program
Work with the Baltimore Director to record data and metrics around Fellow program participation and involvement in extracurricular activities
Work with local Alumni to create regular Alumni-centric programming
Build and implement a programming strategy for the Baltimore Fellow experience
Recruiting (45% Fall & Winter)
Establish & cultivate strong recruitment partnerships with regional colleges, universities, and organizations
Build a strong & diverse applicant pool of current seniors & recent graduates by:
- Identifying promising pipelines of talent nationally with a focus on Maryland and DC area schools
- Engaging with prospective candidates by effectively using sourcing tools (e.g., referrals, Handshake, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Meeting with prospective candidates to encourage them to apply for & become VFA Fellows
Support the logistics of the application process, including planning final round in-person Selection Days
Participate in VFA recruitment and selection events on an ongoing basis, as is expected of all team members.
Support additional team-wide priorities (10% Year-round)
Travel required to schools within the DC/Maryland area as well as other regions
Other travel requirements will include occasional visits to other VFA cities for Job Fairs, team retreats, and other events
You will also support VFA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, as is expected of all team members.
What you may have already done:
Earned a bachelor’s degree
Worked for 1+ years and have a proven track record of executing events and/or programs across an organization
Enjoy meeting new people and selling a mission, product, or service
Have cultivated a keen interest and in startups, entrepreneurship, and economic impact, preferably within Baltimore
Worked for a startup or in an organization supporting startups and/or have experience supporting diverse entrepreneurs
