Venture For America is currently seeking a logistical powerhouse to join our Talent team – which does all the recruitment, selection, and onboarding for the fellowship. Each year, VFA generates over 2,500 applications for a class of approximately 200 Fellows, and the Senior Talent Operations Associate will support in building the application pipeline and executing the selection process. This is a multi-faceted role that requires a strong performer with a proven track record.
What you’ll do:
Build a strong & diverse applicant pipeline (45%)
Identify outstanding applicants from diverse backgrounds for the VFA Fellowship
Become an expert on the use of sourcing tools (e.g., Handshake, LinkedIn, etc.)
Facilitate our day-to-day relationship with a portfolio of national recruitment partners
Support recruiters in planning / executing effective on-campus and virtual events
Meet with prospective candidates to recruit them to apply for & become VFA Fellows
Research, identify & cultivate additional promising pipelines of talent
Execute an efficient and equitable selection process (45%)
Recruit Fellows & alumni to serve as application readers & interviewers & ensure they are trained
Ensure applications are reviewed & candidates are interviewed in a timely manner
Support planning final round in-person Selection Days across the country
Participate in VFA recruitment and selection events on an ongoing basis, as is expected of all team members.
Support additional team-wide priorities (10%)
Support & live at Venture For America’s flagship summer training camp for 4-5 weeks in Summer 2020
Other travel requirements will include occasional visits to other VFA cities for Job Fairs, team retreats, and other events.
You:
Have a B.A./B.S. and 0-3 years of work experience
Are tech savvy and will learn to expertly navigate our platforms quickly (ex. Salesforce, Handshake, Splash)
Have an interest in and talent for data analysis and intuitively understand how to manage & manipulate data to drive strategy
Are exceptionally organized and don’t miss details
Can multitask without dropping anything
Demonstrate next-level communication skills in person, writing, and virtually
Are comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative to solve problems before being asked
