Position Summary:
The Commercial HVAC Estimator will be responsible for accurately evaluating project requirements and preparing comprehensive estimates and proposals for commercial HVAC systems. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure bids are competitive, complete, and aligned with project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating & Bid Preparation
  • Create and organize job folders in the S-Drive; upload bid documents and vendor quotes.
  • Set up and update items on the monday.com Estimating board, ensuring status accuracy
  • Request vendor pricing for estimates and communicate bid timelines to vendors.
  • Review vendor pricing for accuracy and verify quantities.
  • Extract and review mechanical plans and specifications for each bid.
  • Perform ductwork take-offs and price materials using OMNI quotes.
  • Identify all materials required to complete projects and obtain pricing.
  • Write RFIs "Request For Information" to clarify specifications or requirements during the bid process.
  • Review project scopes and develop accurate labor cost estimates.
  • Prepare proposals in Word, including detailed scope of work.
  • Create budgets and compile cost summaries.
  • Project Support & Administration
    • Respond to customer inquiries and provide timely updates.
    • Receive and label deliveries; mark equipment for assigned projects
    • Collect equipment operation and maintenance manuals and warranty documentation.
    • Assist the project manager with submittals for large projects.
    • Issue purchase orders for installers.
    • Provide backup support to the Construction Coordinator by being on site to open the job.
    • Assist with company vehicle coordination as directed.
