San Francisco Travel is seeking a dynamic event professional with experience creating and executing events at scale. The position will centralize and streamline internal and external events that drive value for our clients, prospects, stakeholders, and staff and leverage the San Francisco Travel brand. Contribute to the achievement of SF Travel’s financial goals by coordinating key events, missions and tradeshows. The position will require an individual with the capability to work autonomously, with the drive and creativity to collaborate with all departments in planning and executing events.
What you'll be doing:
Event Planning & Strategy
- Align with internal departments to identify, plan, and execute major San Francisco Travel events, missions, and tradeshows.
- Responsibilities will vary across events, but can include prospecting of venues, sourcing of vendors, identifying members/sponsors, event marketing, day-of production, reporting, and other responsibilities.
- Create new and solidify existing relationships/partnerships with vendors to ensure cost savings and streamlined event production
- Operate as the liaison between members/sponsors for major SF Travel events. Coordinate with internal SF Travel departments to develop yearly calendar of events.
- Identify opportunities to leverage San Francisco Travel brand, voice, and values in all events; including concepting new standalone events as well as activation ideas from start to finish
- Create and manage SF Travel events template and brief process to increase efficiency in planning and executing events.
- Work with marketing team to fulfill all advertising and event promotion materials
Services Support
- Provide operational support to the Services team, including managing shared inboxes, preparing service materials, and maintaining planning resources.
- Support departmental reporting and CRM data integrity to ensure accurate tracking of client activity and service delivery metrics.
- Assist with team coordination and coverage during peak periods to ensure consistent service execution across the department.
Revenue
- Assist in the development and strategy regarding sponsorship/attendance costs and packages for SF Travel events.
- Solicit and negotiate with SF Travel members for event participation, sponsorship, and/or trade.
- Create and maintain budgets to track event profitability
- Work with accounting to track and reconcile expense and revenue budgets for all events and programs
Management
- Develop work plan and help manage day-to-day activities of San Francisco Travel events interns.
Other roles and responsibilities include:
- Database management for events, participants, and revenue tracking.
- Represent SF Travel externally for various industry events.
- May require domestic and/or international travel for event execution.
- Other related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Education and/or training equivalent to college graduate.
- 3+ years’ experience with planning and executing events, hospitality industry background a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and computer skills necessary.
- Ability to communicate and work well with others in a professional office environment.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines while being detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Eventbrite, Asana and Concur a plus
Compensation
- Salary Range: $75,000 to $110,000 base compensation annually. Additional opportunity for annual incentive compensation based on performance and organizational results.

- Employees of San Francisco Travel are required to be in the office a minimum of 4 days per week per company policy, which is subject to change.
- Must be able to travel domestically as required to support onsite execution and client engagement
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds when supporting events or meeting set up
