ToolsGroup is seeking an innovative, driven Business Intelligence Developer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our Boston based Professional Services team. As a member of this team, you will develop and maintain ToolsGroup’s SO99+ ‘next-generation’ Sales and Operations Planning and other supply chain decision support solutions to a broad range of e-commerce, retail and distribution, high-tech and industrial companies.


  •   Work with internal and client technical teams to create technical specifications
  •   Design, develop, and deploy decision support applications
  •   Maintain and support business-critical BI platforms
  •   Create tools to store data (e.g. OLAP cubes)
  •   Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
  •   Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
  •   Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
  •   Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
  •   Create visualizations and reports
  •   Develop and update technical documentation
  •   Establish agile development methodologies
  •   Communicate progress and escalate issues appropriately
  •   Research new technologies, techniques, and concepts and develop prototype applications to showcase value


  •  Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline
  •  3-5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Developer
  •  Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Business Intelligence applications
  •  Experience with supply chain decision support solutions is preferred
  •  Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and data mining
  •  In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) frameworks
  •  Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Board, Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI)
  •  Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  •  Experience with big data, machine learning, and distributed computing frameworks is a plus (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
  •  Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
  •  Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
  •  Ability to travel up to 50%
