The Quad Preparatory School seeks a Part-Time Librarian (15 hours per week) to support the literacy development of our students, ensure they are effective and ethical users of technology and information tools, and maintain the holdings of the Quad Prep Library. The desire and enthusiasm to work with students from K–12 is required, and the ability to handle multiple tasks and roles with grace and to work as part of a team is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities  
Oversee the library facility, curriculum, and resources to create a student-centered environment where collaboration and creative problem-solving thrive. 

Provide leadership in the selection, acquisition, evaluation, and organization of print and digital resources to develop a collection and program that meets the diverse needs of The Quad Prep community.  

Collaborate with faculty and specialists to build and strengthen connections among the literacy and information needs of students, curricular content, and the library. 

Collaborate to create inquiry research units, teach information literacy skills, and design curriculum utilizing a wide variety of technological and library resources. 

Promote children’s literature and literacy within the community.  

Provide leadership in the selection, acquisition, evaluation and organization of the Quad Prep library collection.

Qualifications
MLS/MLIS or education graduate students are preferred, but alternate pathways to the position will be considered.

Experience at the elementary and secondary level in library services, including instruction of research, information, and digital literacy skills.

A demonstrated ability to creatively promote literature and literacy for children.

A demonstrated ability to lead change, work collaboratively, and instruct creatively.

A familiarity with the new AASL standards.

A commitment to ongoing professional development.

This is an hourly position and is not benefits-eligible.
