Position: Sales Engineer
Reports to: SVP, Sales
The Sales Engineer role will be closely involved with all areas of the commercial process including strategy, material creation, prospect prioritization, team structure, etc. This role covers all verticals and use-cases. A qualified Candidate will be able to prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to prospective customers, confer with customers and engineering department to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
Responsibilities and Expectations:
Willingness to travel (up to 75%), work with minimal supervision and flexible scheduling
Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales information and engineering and application trends.
Technically validate opportunities early in the sales funnel to avoid resource inefficiency
Assist new salespeople with the technical elements of the sale as part of salesperson onboarding
Work with the assigned salesperson on an RFPs that need to be completed
Provide technical feedback to the product team on how products are being received in market
Coordinate with the Solutions team to translate market needs and prioritize workload
Work with product marketing to ensure sales are properly position our technical capabilities and pipeline to the marketplace
Validate use-case and technical viability of any prospect before involving CS resources
Provide assistance when a technical meeting is scheduled prior to a prospect being ready for CS (ie defining use-case, understanding hardware spec requirements etc)
Collaborate across Customer Success, Sales, Product
Manages all technical demos, including hardware and software
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
Qualified candidates should be passionate about mobile technology, have experience working on technical projects, and can effectively explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical customers
Exceptional oral / written communication skills as well as expert presentation skills
In-depth knowledge of competitive products / industry trends
Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
Comfortable with mobile and desktop platforms including iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
Able to read code and write code (especially Python, Java, or Objective-C) preferred.
Able to quickly build trusting relationships with customers.
Conduct successful technical meetings with customers to clarify their implementation environment requirements
5 years experience working as a customer-facing technical liaison between Product and Sales
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
