Ria has an active clinic research program including NIH funded SBIRs, collaborations with leading alcohol addiction academics and a strong record of publications and presentations.

Ria Health is seeking a Director of Clinical Research

PRINCIPLE DUTIES and ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formalizes and manages all research efforts and program evaluation activities at Ria, focused on three key areas: 1) Research with academic partners focused on rigorous RTCs and clinical and quality metrics across systems of care 2) Program evaluation research e.g. retrospective chart review and outcomes analyses overall for Ria members and for specific segments of our population 3) Outcomes analysis and design of account management reporting

  • Prepares manuscripts and manages IRB approvals and the journal selection and submission process.

  • Supports clinical design effort by conducting literature reviews and producing literature summaries on specific subpopulations and contributing to the selection and implementation of validated assessment tools and other measures for outcomes evaluations for new populations. 

  • Collaborates with the executive, clinical and product teams to evaluate priorities and develop annual research agendas and roadmaps.

  • Participated in budget planning, estimating and managing costs associated with research, tools and software, administrative and other resources needed to execute on initiatives 

  • Ensures quality control and efficiency in data management and and-to-end research processes and identifies and manages quality control initiatives

  • Partners with the clinical operations team to inform training related to clinical data capture and collection

  • Develops and provides twice monthly reporting to manager on key milestones, impact and outcomes

  • Presents research externally at academic and industry conferences and internally e.g. town hall meetings and lunch and learns 

  • Participates in company strategic planning meetings and efforts 

  • As the company grows, builds out a research team developing selection criteria and attracting and managing talent. 

  • Organizational and time management skills are essential for success in this role 

  • Ability to communicate effectively to various stakeholders groups both internal and external to the organization

Required skills and experience:

  • Three to five year of clinical research experience in a behavioral health setting

  • Doctorate degree in behavioral sciences or related field from an APA accredited program with a specialization in the field of clinical research (e.g. PhD, clinical research psychologist or clinical research scientist) 

  • Expertise in clinical research design and methodologies, managing research databases and quantitative and qualitative data sets

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis methods and corresponding statistical software experience such as SPSS, SAS, STATA, MPLUS, R. 

  • Demonstrated experience as a lead author or co-author in academic or trade journals related to behavioral science.  

  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing and NIH funding e.g. SBIRs

PRINCIPLE DUTIES and ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of capacity projections for the clinical network, including timing of hiring and availability management of MDs, NPs, RNs and MAs to support the operations and growth of clinical care delivery ensuring that specific benchmarks are met around readiness to serve patient demand within specific timeframes and while maintaining and optimizing network efficiency. 

  • Oversee clinical recruiting staff to ensure recruiting is timely and the specific qualifications required are clearly communicated and fulfilled. 

  • Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the provider onboarding and training experiences, establishing and maintaining metrics to report effectiveness, efficiency and provider satisfaction and optimize MD and NP supervision pairings

  • Oversee staff that manage the day to day clinical operations and provide support and guidance necessary to optimize the clinical schedule and patient and provider engagement. 

  • Oversee the credentialing function ensuring that targets are met and that the credentialing process aligns with NCQA and payer contract requirements

  • Participate in a process to optimize credentialing operations including evaluating third party CVOs, achieving and maintaining payor delegated credentialing

  • Develop and manage provider performance metrics and quality improvement initiatives in alignment with Joint Commission standards 

  • Monitor and analyze provider network performance data to identify areas for improvement

  • Ensure clinical compliance with all applicatory regulatory authorities, including but not limited to state medical and clinical boards, federal and state telehealth regulations, Joint Commission and CMS.

  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the company's quality management program, including the development of policies and procedures and tracking of compliance with these programs.  

  • Participate in the budgeting process for clinical operations staffing 

  • Manage a team of provider network and clinical operations professionals

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

  • Acknowledgment that work may involve working with Protected Healthcare Information and agree to abide by all company policies and procedures for keeping that information secure and private.

  • Agree to work within the policies and procedures of Ria Health, including the Information Security, Acceptable Use, Remote Work/Teleworking, and the Monitoring and Recording policies. Violation of company policies may be grounds for discipline, up to and including termination. 

Required skills and experience:

  • Masters degree in a healthcare or related field

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in provider network management and/or clinical operations, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make decisions based on data

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and implement process improvement for their clinical workflows 

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and with external partners

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Knowledge of CMS and state Medicaid regulations preferred
