About RocketRide.ai

RocketRide is an SF-based AI startup pushing the boundaries of open source agentic workflows — helping developers build smarter systems that work for them. Our platform connects automation, AI, and open collaboration into something fast, flexible, and deeply useful.

About This Role

We’re searching for a DevRel Engineer who is technical, energetic, and community-minded, and who’s ready to help tell our story, grow our open source movement, and represent us with real developer credibility.

What You’ll Do

  • Build our developer community. Get our open source project in front of a broad base of developers through relationships, events, podcasts, and creative campaigns.
  • Grow our subscriber base. Design and run experiments to systematically increase conversion from free OSS usage to paid plans, collaborating closely with the AI growth and engineering teams on pricing, packaging, and product direction.
  • Create amazing content. Blog posts, tutorial videos, interviews, short-form clips; whatever grabs developers’ attention and keeps them engaged.
  • Host and speak. You’ll be our on-stage and on-camera presence, emceeing meetups in SF and tech hub cities in North America, Europe and Asia, hosting panels and demoing new tech.
  • Bridge product and community. Be the connector between developers and our engineering team, gathering feedback, surfacing insights, and ensuring the right voices shape our roadmap.
  • Drive social media content. Support the review and creation of social media content, work closely with the AI Growth Engineering team to push and evaluate technical material across channels, and help ensure our presence on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, and beyond stays relevant and developer-first.
  • Experiment with AI tools. Use agentic frameworks like OpenClaw, CrewAI, etc. to automate workflows, generate content, and push the limits of modern marketing.

What You Bring

  • 1-2 years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, technical community building, or a closely related role.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on software experience. You write solid code, build and run demos, contribute to open source, leverage IDEs, and credibly engage with developers at a technical level.
  • You have an established or emerging developer network tied into the open source community, from podcasts and online communities to IRL events, especially in the AI-hub of San Francisco.
  • You are fluent with AI tools and love experimenting, especially for solving real world problems, designing novel use cases with agentic AI, automation, or business workflows.
  • You’re comfortable speaking in front of people, from live audiences to livestreams.
  • You’re naturally curious, organized, self-managed, and serious about following through on deliverables.
  • You love multitasking across tech, community, content, and marketing — and want to grow into a role that touches all of them.
  • You’re able to work from our San Francisco office regularly at least 3 days/week, as part of our hybrid team.

Bonus Points

  • Video editing and post-production skills (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, or similar).
  • Recording experience, comfortable behind a mic and camera in studio or on-location settings.
  • Social media management experience, including scheduling, analytics, and community engagement across platforms.

Why You’ll Love This

  • You’ll get to run fast experiments that blend technical creativity and community building.
  • You’ll work directly with a team of experienced builders and execs who care deeply about developer growth and open source impact.
  • You’ll learn a ton about the emerging agentic AI ecosystem, GTM strategy, and startup execution.
  • You’ll have a front-row seat to the next wave of AI-driven developer tooling and play a direct part in shaping it.
