Level II Help Desk Engineer and System Administrator

Summary:

  • We are looking for a level II help desk engineer and system administrator who can provide excellent technical support and solutions to our clients, both remotely and on-site.
  • You will be responsible for troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software systems, networks, and servers for various client environments.
  • You will also be expected to perform routine backups, updates, patches, and security checks, as well as monitor system performance and availability.
  • You will work closely with other engineers and technicians, as well as communicate effectively with clients and vendors.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in help desk support and system administration, preferably in a managed services provider setting.
  • A strong knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, AWS, VMware, Hyper-V, and other cloud and virtualization technologies.
  • A solid understanding of networking protocols and devices, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall, router, switch, and wireless access point.
  • A proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, both remotely and on-site, using various tools and methods.
  • A high level of customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and skills, and to keep up with the latest industry trends and best practices.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation, as some travel may be required.

Education and Certifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of one of the following certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Linux+, Microsoft MCSA, MCSE, MTA, MCTS, or MCT, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE, Red Hat RHCSA, RHCE, or RHCA, VMware VCP, VCAP, or VCDX, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer, or any other relevant certification.
  • A preference for candidates who have more than one certification, or who are willing to obtain additional certifications as needed.
