Key Identifiers for the Position 

·         10-15 years of certified commissioning engineer experience for large commercial projects.

·         3-5 years of Lead Commissioning Engineer experience of major Airport Terminal with more than $500 million value.

·         2-5 Experience with USGBC for LEED and CA Green.

Position Description Summary

·         Provide leadership, direction and management to ensure on-schedule completions of commissioning, training and close out.

·         Provide leadership, direction and management to ensure on-schedule completions of USGBC LEED Requirements.

·         Experience in coordination with Owner O&M staff, LADBS, LAFD and other stakeholders.

·         Provide leadership in coordinating with prime and subcontractors commissioning staff.

·         Provide assistance to LAWA senior management with project commissioning status and issues.

Essential Job Duties

·         Develop and manage Commissioning Process to meet project goals and objectives.

·         Review and manage Project Commissioning schedule to meet all systems completion.

·         Review and follow up commissioning issues log and implementation.

·         Plan and define commissioning interdependent systems and devise methods to accomplish them.

·         Experience in developing Owners Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD) and Commissioning Plan (Cx Plan).

·         Experience in review of design documents, submittal s and RFIs.

·         Experience in preparation of system verification checklists and functional testing procedures.

·         Assists in Providing commissioning updates and give reports to executive management.

·         Establishment of Project Commissioning Management Plan.

·         Attends Project commissioning meetings and site meetings.

·         Field responsibilities include witnessing functional testing of various building systems.

·         Work closely with Owner O&M staff, LADBS, LAFD and other stakeholders.

·         Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in this plan.

·         Work and collaborate with D/B contractor and subcontractors to achieve proper communication and direction.

·         Maintain current and timely commissioning reports and status.

·         Promote excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes.

·         Monitor and report to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.

·         Establish and attend regular meetings to review project status and formulate action items.

·         Contribute to the advancement of PDG’s goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders. 

Hardware/Software Knowledge

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Explorer

Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications

·         Three to 5 years of major Airport work experience with projects more than $500 million is preferred.

·         Broad experience in design and construction management/administration of major commercial construction projects.

·         Experience with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Low Voltage and Plumbing coordination, and commercial building and Los Angeles City codes.

·         Experience should include interfacing with Architects, Engineers, General Contractors and SubContractors.

·         Experience with Design/Build (DB) and other alternative project delivery methods.

·         Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations required.

Education/Training

·         Four-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
