SUMMARY
Designers Edge office is seeking a Bookkeeper for a company that provides site surveying services to Fortune 1000 companies, enterprise architectural firms, large property management and construction companies throughout North America.
We are seeking a highly accurate, project-minded Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and support leadership in safeguarding company profitability and compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project Financial Management
- Record and maintain accurate project-level financial transactions across surveying and drafting workflows.
- Track job costs, labor, travel, and vendor expenses by project.
- Support visibility into project profitability and margin performance.
- Prepare internal financial summaries to support operational decision-making.
Payroll & Expense Reimbursement Compliance
- Process bi-weekly in-house payroll via TriNet.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll and classification records.
- Process employee travel reimbursements tied to site survey projects.
- Track airfare, hotels, mileage, per diem, rental cars, and field expenses by job
- Reconcile company credit cards and ensure proper project allocation.
- Monitor reimbursement accuracy and flag cost overruns or unusual spend patterns
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Vendor Management
- Enter vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and invoice issues.
- Maintain required licenses, insurance documentation, and registrations.
- Support leadership with financial data needed for operational decisions.
COMPETENCIES/QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of accounting principles, excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret financial data
- Familiarity with project-based accounting
- Experience using financial reporting software, and the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
- Ability to analyze, prepare, and present financial data and reports
- High accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage confidential financial information.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma required, Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years’ bookkeeping or full-charge accounting experience required, preferably in construction or project-based services.
