Ravenswood is looking for a motivated and talented Product Support Engineer to be a member of Ravenswood’s Team based in Boise, ID.  

Job Summary

The Product Support Engineer is a member of the Ravenswood’s Product Development Team. They report to the Production & TaaS System Manager, providing technical support across multiple client programs and corporate functions as required.

This position is focused on the comprehensive production, testing, and maintenance of all Ravenswood product lines. During delivery, they will assist in the receipt, inventory, initial set-up, and field testing of the product. They will also assist in the provision of New Equipment Training to the client in “train the trainer fashion” under the guidance of a Ravenswood project manager. They work with the engineering team during design phase and support the delivery of Ravenswood products to client sites, as required. They will occasionally be responsible for oversight of temporary hires during field deployments, maintenance, or acceptance testing.

Product Support Engineers have advanced problem-solving skills and pay close attention to detail. They will be given high level guidance and a desired outcome with an expectation that they devise their own solutions and create their own schedules, plans, and deliverables, using their own judgment under minimal supervision. They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in product requirements. Additionally, they must have excellent interpersonal skills and work well in a small team environment.

Duties include the following:

Product Maintenance
•    Create a product support plan that defines regular and point-of-need maintenance schedules
•    Coordinate as well as conduct maintenance on Ravenwood developed products
•    Coordinate maintenance services from outside vendors

Product Testing
•    Define and perform acceptance testing on newly produced items
•    Coordinate integrated software validation testing
•    Create test plans and test reports

Product Development
•    Support testing and technical troubleshooting during development
•    Contribute to technical/engineering designs
•    Consult during design reviews

Field Support
•    Estimated travel 25% comprised of short (<1 week) and longer (>1 month) trips
•    Setup and operate instrumentation and communications systems
•    Maintain property accountability
•    Oversee field teams consisting of Ravenswood and temporary employees

Required Qualifications:

•    A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or Technology
                OR
    5 years’ experience in deployed communications/computing systems
•    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
•    Proficient with both Linux and Microsoft Windows

Desired Qualifications

•    Military service
•    Experience supporting military training
•    Experience/Training in life cycle product maintenance or MTBF analysis
•    Proficiency with one or more of the following applications:
    o    Microsoft Project
    o    Ubuntu
    o    SolidWorks or equivalent
    o    Altium or equivalent
    o    PDM Pro
    o    JIRA
•    Existing tower climbing certification (if not, will be required and funded)

Other Requirements

•    Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check
•    A drug screen will be required as part of the hiring process
•    Due to government requirements for this role and the nature of the work, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
