Ravenswood Solutions is hiring an IT Systems Administrator I to support our new site in Boise, ID, on W. Gowen Rd., opening late Spring 2019. You will be directly supporting approximately forty staff on-site, setting up new laptops, installing and configuring software and hardware, solving laptop usage issues, monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues, responding to IT Service Desk requests from staff, and ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You must have confidence in your judgement and be able to work independently. You must be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You must have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.  

This position’s start date is no sooner than May 20, 2019.

Specific responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

•    Assist staff in specifying, then ordering and configuring software and hardware
•    Manage network servers and technology tools
•    Set up accounts and workstations
•    Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
•    Troubleshoot issues and outages
•    Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
•    Upgrade systems with new releases and models
•    Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
•    Contribute to an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

Required Qualifications

•    Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or related discipline, recent graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply
•    Computer and networking diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
•    In-depth experience with Windows, version 10 and 7
•    Linux command line experience a plus
•    Good communication skills and eagerness to help, and teach, others
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Skilled in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
•    Ability to interact effectively with people of varying technical abilities (engineers, technicians, and military personnel)
•    Energetic self-starter with strong work ethic and strong leadership skills
•    Documentation and technical writing skills
•    Ability to function at a high-level in high-pressure environments

•    Employment is contingent on successful completion of a background check
•    A drug screen will be required as part of the hiring process
•    Due to government requirements for this role and the nature of the work, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
