Ravenswood Solutions (RS), a wholly owned subsidiary of SRI International, delivers combat readiness field training to U.S. military personnel and other security forces around the country and around the world. Ravenswood Solutions is seeking an After Action Review Production Team Lead (AARPTL) to be a member of Ravenswood’s Live Exercise Support Team. This position will be located in Boise, ID and extensive travel is required.

Job Summary

Ravenswood Solutions is looking for an After Action Review and Production Team Leader (AARPTL) in direct support of exercises that utilize the FlexTrain System. This large-scale instrumentation training system provides real-time position information and simulated engagement results for personnel and vehicles. This system is used at various military bases throughout the U.S. to support training and data collection to include platoon training at a brigade level and is in planning for use at international operating locations.

During field exercises the AARPTL is assigned to a field team and reports to the Instrumentation and Communications Chief. During the exercises, the AARPTL leads a mixed team of full-time and temporary staff with varying backgrounds and levels of experience.

Between exercises, the AARPTL provides direct support to testing, and maintenance activities under the direction of the Sustainment Director.  In coordination with the Sustainment Director, the AARPTL also assist the I&C Chief in exercise planning and documentation.

Specific responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

•    Extensive travel will be required for this position; up to 5 months of travel per year (typically less than 2 months at a time).
•    Participate in the planning and execution of 2-4 annual training exercises of 30-45 days each
•    Support site surveys and field tests at associated operational locations
•    Prepare, sustain and implement FlexTrain Systems to produce high-quality, “instrumented” AAR’s that utilize presentation inputs from several visual and audio sources including PowerPoint, tracked movements on a 2/3D virtual environment, video from handheld camcorders, and audio from recorded radio communications
•    Manage the layout, installation, configuration, maintaining and recovery of the Tactical Analysis Centers (TAC’s), Mobile After-Action Review Centers (MAARC’s), Video Take Home Package (VTHP) Kits, Video Editor Stations and Hand-Held Video (HHV) Operator Kits
•    Manage the recruiting, work schedules, and training of temporary personnel for staffing of various logistics-oriented disciplines (~60+ personnel). Temporary personnel consist of MAARC Operators, Video Take Home Package Operators, Video Editors, and Hand-Held Video Operators
•    Assist in development of operational graphics and modeling
•    Maintain data base for conducting MTT and presentations
•    Assist in manpower and cost estimation for development of exercise budgets
•    Provide lessons learned and recommendations for continual improvement of exercise support capabilities, effectiveness and efficiency
•    Maintain and prepare the system while it is not deployed. Repair or replace broken components, produce documentation, pursue improved methods of system operation and maintenance

Required Qualifications:

•    3-5 years leadership/management experience directing small teams in dynamic work environments.
•    Professional certifications/experience in Video, Networking, Computer hardware and software integration desired.
•    Computer and networking diagnostic and troubleshooting skills required
•    Linux command line experience a plus
•    Military experience working with the After Action Review (AAR) process desired.
•    Willingness & ability to travel for extended periods, up to 5 months of travel per year (typically less than 2 months at a time)
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Skilled in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
•    Ability to interact effectively with people of varying technical abilities (engineers, technicians, and military personnel)
•    Energetic self-starter with strong work ethic and strong leadership skills
•    Documentation and technical writing skills
•    Ability to function at a high-level in high-pressure environments
•    Ability to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis
