Ravenswood Solutions is seeking a Range Operations Team Leader (ROTL) to be a member of Ravenswood’s Live Exercise Support Team. This position will be located in Boise, ID and extensive travel is required.

Job Summary

Ravenswood Solutions is looking for a Range Operations Team Lead in direct support of exercises that utilize the FlexTrain System. This large-scale instrumentation training system provides real-time position information and simulated engagement results for personnel and vehicles. This system is used at various military bases throughout the U.S. to support training and data collection to include platoon training at a brigade level and is in planning for use at international operating locations.

During field exercises the ROTL is assigned to a field team and reports to the Instrumentation and Communications Chief providing Range Operations technical and management support to rotations under the Army National Guard’s eXportable Combat Training Capabilities (XCTC) Program.  

Between exercises, the ROTL provides direct support to equipment maintenance and accountability activities under the direction of the Sustainment Director.  In coordination with the Sustainment Director, the ROTL also assist the I&C Chief in exercise planning and documentation.

Specific responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):

•    Extensive travel is required to multiple locations (up to 50 days per training exercise / 120+ days per year) to participate in two or more XCTC rotations per year
•    Manage the recruiting, hiring, training, and daily supervision of up to 100 temporary personnel and supervisors for a variety of exercise support roles
•    Oversee setup, testing, operation, and recovery of FlexTrain equipment
•    Participate in the maintenance and repair of FlexTrain equipment
•    Understand and follow the government & corporate property accountability procedures as published by the Ravenswood Solutions Property Manager
•    Oversee the issue, installation, operation, and recovery of training instrumentation components to include vehicle-based and personnel-based devices
•    Oversee the deployment, operation, and recovery of wireless communication assemblies, including towers and associated trailers
•    Oversee the deployment, operation, and recovery of After Action Review (AAR) facilities including expeditionary shelters, HVAC units, generators, and associated support equipment
•    Oversee quality assurance personnel, both engineering and repair technician support, during field operations
•    Provide briefings and demonstration support to client visits and meetings
•    Provide manpower and cost estimation inputs to exercise budgets
•    Provide lessons learned and recommendations for continual improvement of exercise support capabilities, effectiveness and efficiency of assigned equipment in coordination with other exercise team leaders in preparation for shipment to the next exercise location or the maintenance depot

Required Qualifications:

•    Minimum 10 years of related professional experience with 5 years of leadership
•    Bachelor’s Degree Desired
•    Experience with group activity coordination  
•    Prior military service and/or familiarity with military training systems/events and U.S. Army property accountability procedures strongly desired
•    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
•    Proficient oral and written communication
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Good troubleshooting skills
•    Ability to interact effectively with people of varying technical abilities (engineers, technicians, and military personnel)
•    Strong initiative with an emphasis on team building
•    Ability to identify potential and emerging problems with both equipment and personnel
•    Flexible attitude and ability to adapt easily to changing requirements and schedules
•    Ability to perform well in high-stress, fast-paced environments
•    Forklift experience/certification
•    Good manual dexterity
•    Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
